7-Election Campaign by 7-Eleven : Until May 6th Only!

I remember back in 2010, during the presidential elections, 7-Eleven launched an unofficial yet fun voting campaign through specially-designed Gulp® cups. I participated then so when I found out they’re doing it again, I wanted to join in too.

This time around, the 7-Election campaign is focused on the senatorial coalitions. Instead of voting individually, customers can choose from three (3) Gulp® cups with designs representing Team PNoy, United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) and the independent candidates and smaller parties.

Since the voting is not for a specific candidate but for his or her whole party, I had a difficult time choosing a cup. As much as I’d like to share my political views here, I know this food blog is not the proper forum so I’d rather just invite you to participate as you still have time. 😉

Since Ken had to work, I invited our nanay and her friends to participate with me. It’s a pretty straightforward process. All you have to do is pick a 16-oz Gulp cup representing the party you’re voting for. Yellow for Team PNoy, orange for UNA and white for the independent candidates and other parties. You can choose whatever beverage you want.

Each Gulp® cup that’s paid for counts as one vote for the chosen party. For the white cup featuring multiple parties, they have assigned barcodes for the party of your choice.

If you’re already buying your beverages at 7-Eleven, why not join in, right? Each cup costs Php 20 and you can select from their various drinks, including Pepsi and Coca-Cola fizzy drinks.

Yeah, I chose to not show you which cups they chose. 🙂

The results may be viewed on the leaderboards across all the 7-Eleven stores, and also online through www.7-election.com.ph. You can even vote for individual candidates there. No purchase is required, but you are allowed one vote only.

If you’ll be tweeting about this, make sure you use the hashtag #7Election so you can also listen in on other people’s votes.

The 2013 7-Election voting campaign is until May 6th, Monday. So, you still have 3 days to drop by the nearest 7-11 and participate. The final tally will be released on May 7, 2013.
