Papa Johns Pizza Food Trip : Mythical 5 and PBA Meals Promo

After weeks of being stuck at home, my nanay, Ken and I finally got the time to go out on a weekend. Since I’ve been craving for pizza since the beginning of the year and we received gift certificates from Papa John’s, we headed out to their branch in SM North Edsa to try one of their PBA Meals.

Yes, our nanay is now addicted to taking photos of our food too and sharing them on Facebook. ๐Ÿ˜€

Papa John’s PBA Meals are their new offerings for friends and families who enjoy watching the PBA (or for any viewing parties of any sport, movie or TV show really) with pizza to share with their whole group. There are 2 options: Mythical 5 PBA Meal and PBA Meals for 12 (click to zoom).

Since there were just 3 of us with appetites of 2 persons, we went for the Mythical 5 PBA Meal. ๐Ÿ˜€ For only Php 999, you get the following:

  • 1 large 14″ (35.56cm) Pizza (any flavor)
  • 2 orders of pasta (choices: Diablo Burst, Carbonara, Bolognaise)
  • 2 servings of their Seasoned Potato Wedges
  • 5 regular sodas

For the pizza, we chose their Super Papa’s, their ultimate best-seller. It’s a combination of various toppings: pepperoni, Italian sausage, ham, mushrooms, onions, green peppers and black olives. Upon my first bite, I quickly understood why everyone loves it. Their pizza crust is slightly thin, with that slight crisp when you bite into it. All the flavors were spot on.

This large Super Papa’s pizza already costs Php 610. Carbonara is priced at Php 180, while the Meatball Bolognaise is Php 200. 5 servings of soda is Php 275. The potato wedges are Php 99 per serving. Total price of what you’ll get for their Mythical 5 PBA Meal is Php 1,463, but you only pay Php 999. What an amazing deal!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Now, just a quick rundown of everything else that we ordered. The PBA meal included two (2) servings of their Seasoned Potato Wedges. They were flavorful and weren’t soggy as they were nice and warm when they were served.

We also got the Bolognaise. We were supposed to pick the Diablo Burst, but since we were with nanay, who’s not a big fan of hot and spicy food (and yet she’ll insist to take a bite just to see if she can handle it, causing us to worry everytime ๐Ÿ˜€ ), we went for the subtler pasta dish.

Papa John's Bolognaise

I am a sucker for Carbonara, and I’m glad Papa John’s version didn’t disappoint. It’s creamy, with that right amount of flavors from the bacon, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese. Oh, and it’s topped with Parmesan cheese. Exactly how I like my carbonara – cheesy, creamy and a little salty. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ken also ordered their Herbed Parmesan Breadsticks (Php 90), which reminded me so much of Glee. If you watch that show, you’ll know what I mean. My days have recently seemed to be a musical ’cause there’s nothing else I can do in my minutest spare time, but sing or bop my head to the beats of my favorite music.

I’m veering way off-topic here. Going back to the breadsticks, they came drizzled with their garlic dipping sauce and two (2) dips. One is a bit too oily for me and the other, the pizza sauce, was just right. They are perfect to pair with pasta. We quickly realized after everything was served though that we didn’t really need the breadsticks. ๐Ÿ˜€ It was carbo overload.

I just have to mention that this is my first time to try Papa John’s pizza. Ken have raved about them before but it was only recently that I learned they have a branch in SM North Edsa. They easily make it to my to-go places for my pizza craving fix. ๐Ÿ˜‰

For us, the quality of pizza can only be tested one way: will it still be tasty even after it was refrigerated and heated in the microwave oven? Papa John’s pizza surely passed this taste and quality test. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Okay, the remaining slices only lasted a few hours when we got home, but we bet it’ll still be good by the next day. The crust was still delicately chewy, proving the quality of ingredients they use in their pizza.
