Lunch at Best Friends in Monumento

We’ve been meaning to eat at Best Friends in Monumento and we only got to finally do it a few weeks ago. Their branches are open 24 hours a day, so, I’ve dined at some of Best Friends branches all over Metro Manila back in the days when I used to party late at night. *grin* So, in case you crave or want to eat late at night, you can drop by the nearest Best Friends branch for a hearty meal.

What I love about Best Friends aside from their operating hours is that their prices are very affordable and the quality of their food has been pretty consistent across all their branches I’ve dined in. Some people, though, might not be comfortable eating at a very open area, but it’s actually one of the things I liked about them.

One of the famous dishes on Best Friends menu is their Beef Pares. So, of course, it’s one of the dishes we ordered. But, they have a wide range of dishes on their menu.

As you can see, the prices are really affordable. Mai and I managed to only pay about Php 500 for our dine-in meals plus 7 Best Friends siopao for takeout.

So, what exactly did we order? We made sure we ordered items on their menu that I haven’t tried yet, except for the Pares. I wanted Mai to try it.

Best Friends Pork Siomai – Php 28.00 for 4 pieces
We both love dimsum, so, we couldn’t resist ordering this. Well, there wasn’t really anything unique about Best Friends’ siomai. But, it’s still good, just like most regular siomai I’ve tried.

Mai picked the Beef Pares because she wanted to try making her own version at home. There was too much sauce on the Pares, but, at least, it wasn’t too sweet or too thick. The slices of beef were very tender. I had to “help” Mai finish her plate. Hehehe.

Best Friends Pork Teriyaki with Chopsuey side dish – Php 74.00

This is what I ordered – Pork Teriyaki with Chopsuey side dish. For its price, I say, it’s really worth it. This is one of the value meals or budget meals of Best Friends. It only costs Php 74.00 and you can choose from different main dishes like Pork BBQ, Porkchop, Lechon, Fish Fillet, Lumpiang Shanghai, etc. And, the meal also includes a vegetable side dish of your choice. Select from Chopsuey, PInakbet, Talong with Bagoong (eggplant with shrimp paste), Coleslaw, etc.

I’m glad I picked Chopsuey along with Pork Teriyaki because they complemented each other well. Although one piece of pork had more fat than I would like, I still completely enjoyed it. I initially thought the sauce will be too sweet. But, it was just good to pair it with rice and the veggies in the Chopsuey.

Asado and Bola-Bola Siopao from Best Friends – Php 17.00 each

Before we left, I told Mai that we should try Best Friends siopao. We ordered a total of 7 siopaos – 5 bola-bola and 2 asado. Mai enjoyed it so much that she wants us to go back to Best Friends just to buy siopao. LOLz.

I agree with her – I love Best Friends’ siopao. Mai prefers the bola-bola over the asado, but, I love both! No surprise there, eh? Hehehe.

I’m pretty happy with our lunch at Best Friends. I’d love to come back and try their other dishes that I haven’t tried yet. The only items I’ve tried from their menu are the Pares, Tapsilog, noodles, and Siopao. The prices at Best Friends are really affordable, especially for those people who are frugal like us (people who love bargains, knows the latest cheap auto insurance quotes, wants the best value for their money everytime), but, still want to enjoy dining out.

Have you already dined at any Best Friends branch?

Enjoy!
