An Exciting New Beginning with Breakfast Magazine

Aside from our love for food, Ken and I also share a passion for writing. As far as I can remember, I’ve always kept a journal or a notebook where I write my deepest thoughts and a few random things. Ken also has a knack for writing and, in fact, he was the one who wanted to put up his own blog first, but I beat him to it. With all that said, it’s been a dream of ours to be published in a broadsheet or a magazine. And this year, we fulfilled it. We’re glad to be part of Breakfast Magazine.

Breakfast Magazine is the newest foodie publication in the Philippines today. You might be thinking that all we talk about in the mag is breakfast, what people generally consider the most important meal of the day. The magazine is all about food – may it be breakfast, lunch, dinner or the enjoyment of food  in between.

The maiden issue of Breakfast Magazine was launched this month. It’s a bi-monthly publication and every issue, we follow a theme. For February and March, it was just expected that it’s all about love and food. :)

When we were approached to be part of Breakfast Magazine, we were excited about it, but wondered if we are ready. This food blog will only turn 2 this year (we have a giveaway coming up!), but we are indeed touched by the overwhelming support we’re getting from fellow certified foodies. We love blogging and writing, but we thought coming up with articles for a magazine is a completely different ballgame. But, we brushed those doubts aside and we agreed.

Starbucks 2012 Planner Giveaway

Excited about the Starbucks Coffee 2012 Planner?

Ever since I got my first Starbucks planner last year as a gift from my aunt Zeny (she saw me joining giveaways to win one – thanks Tita! :D ), I began to realize how it’s become a part of tradition for most people I know – to collect stickers during the last quarter of the year and redeem a planner before the new year comes. It’s actually fun and I can’t believe how useful it’s been to me since I got it. So, this year, I’m already one of those who are excited to get our hands on a Starbucks 2012 Planner. :) Starbucks Coffee 2012 Planners

On its ninth (9th) year, the Starbucks Coffee 2012 Planner comes in five (5) unique covers – from darkest to lightest: Oak, Spruce, Cherry, Bamboo and Poplar.

The planner materials that they used for this 2012 planner reflects the theme Starbucks Shared Planet. What exactly does this mean? It’s their very own vow to do business while still taking care of the planet by supporting these pillars (from the press release):

  • Ethical sourcing – This year’s planner was produced in a facility that is FSC certified. FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council which is an independent, non-governmental, non- profit organization established to promote that the world’s forests are responsibly managed.
  • Environmental Stewardship – The inner planner pages are made from 70% recycled paper.
  • Community Involvement – For every planner redeemed, a donation will be made to SparkHope – Starbucks Philippines flagship program for early childhood care and development in partnership with UNICEF.

McDonald’s Coca Cola Can Glasses are Here!

I used to collect a lot of things back when we were still living in Navotas. After we moved, most of my collections got lost and some were given away to friends and relatives. And one of them was my McDonald’s Coca Cola Glasses collection from 2009, pictured below.

I love those glasses because they make a good conversation piece whenever I entertain friends at home. That’s why I’m so glad when I found out that there are McDonald’s Coca Cola Can Glasses now up for grabs for those who love collecting them.

I just love these glasses ‘cause they’re molded into these Coca-Cola Can shapes. And they come in different colors, too. Now, I’ve got 6 colors to collect – Charcoal, Purple, Lime, Pink, Blue and Green!
