Kido Manga Burger Cafe at Robinson’s Place, Manila

A few months ago, my brother Kien and I went out to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 at Robinson’s Place in Manila. When we bought our tickets, we were left with just about an hour to order food we could bring in while we enjoy the movie. So, we decided on just ordering burger and fries.

I was getting desperate quickly deciding where to order that I almost ended up dragging him to McDonald’s. 😀 Good thing we saw Kido Manga Burger Cafe just around the corner, near the cinemas. Kien wanted to try something new so I agreed.

When we saw Kido Manga, I was a bit skeptical because there were no people dining at their burger joint. But, the photos on their menu got me interested. I wasn’t feeling adventurous at that time so I only chose items on their menu that I’m familiar with.

Kien wanted to try their Takoyaki, but we just didn’t have enough time to wait and eat it before heading out to the cinema. It’ll be a mess if we bring it inside so I said we’ll just save it for next time. Besides, we don’t know yet if we’d be satisfied with the taste of Kido Manga’s burgers.

We told them we’ve got less than 15 minutes before the movie starts. We were told it’ll just take about 10 minutes to prepare everything we ordered so I was really counting on it. I kinda hate waiting for my orders, especially when they’re just burgers. My bro said to relax, we won’t be late for the movie. I was a bit anxious to the point that you’d think I need some anti wrinkle cream to hide my frustration.

But, hey, the Kido Manga staff actually did okay. They brought our orders in less than 10 minutes. Yes, I was watching the time! So, pardon the photos. I hurriedly took photos of our orders before we ran off to the cinema.

While waiting, we decided to order their Aisu Blendo (ice blended) Strawberries and Cream (Php 105). I usually don’t like strawberry-flavored drinks, but this one I liked. Maybe a little sweet for most people, but if you’re going to enjoy it with fries or burger, I don’t think it’ll bother you.

Kido Manga also have milk tea and coffee ice blended drinks. Here’s my failed attempt (read: blurry) to take photo of their coffee and tea menu:

I ordered Kido Manga’s Tsukini (Grilled Chicken) burger value meal that includes a regular order of twister fries and 12-oz drink, all priced at Php 125.00. The burger was as big as the ones from Brother’s Burger. So, I say the price is just right.

How did it taste? Well, I was eating it inside the cinema so I had no other senses working but my sense of smell and taste. Boy, I enjoyed it! The grilled chicken patty filled the burger buns so I had its tasty meat in every bite. The chicken was juicy and the Tonkatsu sauce and mayonnaise just made it yummier. I had my bro taste it and he loved it, too!

Kien ordered their Kido Master burger value meal (Php 145.00). It’s Kido Manga’s house burger, with 100% Japanese burger patty with the works – onions, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and their special Bolognese sauce. The burger patty was also very juicy.

I think we gobbled up all the fries and burgers in just a few minutes! 😀 It was really the sauce that made the difference. I’d love to go back to Kido Manga and try their Ebi Katsu Burger (Shrimp Katsu), Gyoza Burger (grilled pork), and their Tako Burger (octopus Katsu).

We give Kido Manga Burger Cafe 5 smilies. Yes, we super enjoyed the burgers. Plus, the staff were also very accommodating. 🙂

  1. Is this a Filipino chain or a Japanese one? Because when I searched for an official site… I landed on your site 🙂 I tried their shrimp burger, but I didn’t like it because of their yellow sauce.
